1964 Porsche 356 Carrera 2

Cutting edge automotive design begins with a vision. Great designs can leave a lasting impression on the rest of the automotive industry for 10 seconds or for 10 years. The Porsche 356 is moving in on 7 decades of lasting impressions. There are only a handful of car designs that claim that. Just a handful.

62 years after it’s inception, the 356 still looks bold and cutting edge which is why it’s legacy is so widely felt. The down side of being such a legendary design is that the same good looks can be a brand’s crutch. The design of Porsche’s cars has changed very little in those 62 and it’s no secret that the last two generations of the modern 911 have been a snooze fest as the design has truly grown stale.

So when do automotive enthusiasts stop caring about Porsche? Never. The 356 made sure of that. This model is a gorgeous example of the a 356C Carrera 2 with sunroof. Enjoy. Downloadable photos can always be found here: Shiny Side Flickr
